Our Love Story

Angela and Bill’s story began in late 2019 with a connection on Match.com — proof that sometimes the most extraordinary chapters start in the most ordinary ways.

Because Angela had a young daughter at home, Jaxyn, their early romance unfolded through day dates. Bill was always available — so available, in fact, that Angela briefly wondered if he had a secret life of leisure and no job at all. (She worked from home and couldn’t quite figure out how he managed to “just pop by” so often.) What she would soon learn is that he simply knew something special when he saw it — and he was all in.

On one of their very first dates, Bill arrived with flowers. The florist had decided to add the most elaborate wrappings and ornate ribbons. They were so grand that Bill became adorably self-conscious and tried to hide them on the porch before Angela opened the door. But she saw them — and she saw him. The sweetness, the effort, and the tender vulnerability behind the oversized bow spoke volumes.

As weeks turned into months, their time spent together grew longer, deeper, and more intentional. What started as cautious dating steadily became something serious and steady. When Jaxyn had the extraordinary opportunity to perform at Carnegie Hall, Angela knew Bill’s presence would mean everything. So shortly before that performance, Bill and Jaxyn met for the first time. It was a meaningful and pivotal step — the beginning of not just a relationship, but a family.

Angela soon met Bill’s parents at his sister Cate’s home in Richmond. The first time she met their father, he looked straight at her and said, “You’re beautiful.” It was disarming, sincere, and unforgettable. She instantly connected with his mother as well — they share a love of God, a deep commitment to their Catholic faith, and a mutual understanding that faith is strongest when paired with humility and realistic expectations of the Church itself. To Angela, it felt like coming home.

Then March 2020 arrived, and with it, the uncertainty of COVID. Wanting to keep Angela and Jaxyn safe, Bill suggested they head to Maine for a couple of weeks. For Angela, it was a huge leap of faith — trusting his instinct, stepping away from the familiar, and choosing to believe that together they could navigate whatever was ahead. Two weeks turned into two and a half years — and a life they built together on Sebec Lake.

Those years on the lake were nothing short of magical.

While the world felt uncertain, their little corner of Maine became a place of growth, creativity, and profound connection. Jaxyn attended school online, and in that peaceful setting her imagination flourished. Bill stepped up to parenting during an extraordinarily difficult season with grace, steadiness, and quiet strength. Together, the three navigated uncertainty not just as partners, but as a family — anchored in love and faith.

During those early years, Bill’s son, Sean, traveled from Germany to spend time with them in both Maine and Baltimore. They have also cherished time together abroad — gathering in Germany and traveling as a family to places like Croatia. No matter the location — on the lake in Maine, around the table in Baltimore, or exploring Europe together — their time with Sean has strengthened the bond of their family across every mile.

Along the way, they discovered another shared passion: transforming houses into homes. Together, they have bought and renovated three homes — rolling up their sleeves, making bold design choices, solving unexpected problems, and pouring long hours into every detail. They are both incredibly hard workers, and they work remarkably well side by side. There is something symbolic about it: taking something with potential, investing care and shared vision, and watching it become something beautiful and lasting. The results of the homes they’ve renovated have been profound — not just in the walls they’ve rebuilt or the spaces they’ve reimagined, but in the teamwork, resilience, and pride they’ve built together in the process.

Adventure has always been part of their love story. As a family, they’ve traveled to Croatia, Germany, Italy, Canada, and beyond. In Canada, they even tried their hand at curling — one small but memorable adventure among many. They love hiking together, spending long days on the lake, and gathering with friends and family around the table. They have learned that love isn’t just about grand gestures — it’s about showing up, over and over again, in everyday life.

Now, after seven years of partnership, parenting, adventure, faith, deep friendship — and more than a few renovation projects — they have chosen to say “yes” to forever.

From ornate ribbons on a first-date bouquet to sunsets over Sebec Lake, from Carnegie Hall to European travels, from empty houses to beautifully restored homes, their story has always been about courage, commitment, hard work, and choosing each other — again and again.

And now, surrounded by the people they love most, they begin their next chapter as husband and wife.
